Relay for Life - lighting candles for GAVM members

In the past few years Greater Atlanta Voice Masters was not officially represented at American Cancer Society Relay For Life events, but our members are individually still a part of this celebration of life and cancer survivorship.

One important aspect of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life is the opportunity for people to come together to remember loved ones lost to cancer and honor those who have won their battle. One of the most moving parts of the event is the Luminaria Ceremony.

As the sun sets over campsites and darkness falls, the night is brightened by the glow of illuminated bags called luminaria, each bearing the name of someone who has battled cancer and gone too soon.

This year we lighted candles for our members we lost in the last few months Sharon Rhodes, Charles Hubbard, Dan Lewis and Jodeen Ducharme, but also for the friends we lost in past.
